Nordic Pole Walking ... Who doesn't want better posture, balance and co-ordination? The most frequent request that I get is, can we work our core? Most of my members know that there is an element of Core in all of the activities we do in my classes and personal training sessions. That is why I am so excited to introduce Nordic walking. Nordic Pole Walking greatly improves our core balance, strength and stability as well as a whole lot more. We can all benefit from improve core strength, posture and balance.
Balance is the one thing that is going to keep us moving well into our senior years. Keep us independent and healthy in so many ways, not just walking. Once we lose our ability to balance, we start falling and breaking body parts. That requires bed rest and a lot of sitting. Prolonged sitting is a a slippery slope. They call it the sitting disease and it is the #1 reason for falls. This leads to depression, isolation, increased aches and pains from sitting,... need I go on?
Nordic walking is a full body workout involving 90% of all muscles in the body! Say what??? If you have spent anytime at all in my studio, you will know that I am a big fan of getting the biggest bang for my buck. Nordic walking is supposed to improve core, upper body strength, posture, form, technique, heart rate, increase bone density?! .... and burn more calories!!! Yes! Sign me up!
